Luke Pritchard - The Kooks, Williamsburg Music Hall
Quite possibly one of the most promising vocal talents around, Luke Pritchard delivers a fantastic live set with The Kooks. This is now the second time i’ve seen them in New York city in small, intimate venues. Enjoy!

Now a proud Avenue A | Razorfish family member
I can finally say that my move from York to New York has finally reached a true moment of completion. I join the ranks of Avenue A | Razorfish, the largest interactive marketing agency in the US. This large step in my career allows me to work amongst the brightest marketing minds in the industry with a true holistic approach to technology driven digital strategies.
Thrilled by the opportunity, it has meant that I have now descended from my Empire State Building perch to the sensory overload of Times Square. After two weeks, I am still waiting for my ears to pop and adjust to the altitude shift ![]()
Would you survive a nuclear bomb?
Sick, twisted but ultimately very cool. This brilliant “mashup” (i.e: the union of external datasources typically plotted onto google maps) illustrates what you can expect within the different zones of overpressure. Overpressure is the term used to express the quantity of force exerted upon physical and organic entities; buildings and people at a given distance from the epicenter of a nuclear blast. If a nuke where to hit downtown manhattan, I’d probably suffer glass cuts but then again it doesn’t account for radiation…….cheery thought.
Here’s a handy chart to guide your findings.
| Overpressure | Structural effects | Human injuries |
| 1 psi | Window glass shatters. | Light injuries from fragments occur. |
| 3 psi | Residential structures collapse. | Serious injuries are common, fatalities may occur. |
| 5 psi | Most buildings collapse. | Injuries are universal, fatalities are widespread. |
| 10 psi | Reinforced concrete buildings are severely damaged or demolished. | Most people are killed. |
| 20 psi | Heavily built concrete buildings are severely damaged or demolished. | Fatalities approach 100%. |
Razorlight concert - Got papped!
I saw the most excellent Razorlight last night at the Bowery Ballroom, a beautiful intimate venue with a gorgeous balcony wrapped around the room. We got our pictures snapped by spin.com and had to come up with a song for America, difficult to respond on the spot but i think i did alright compared to the other comments
And mum, sorry i used a curse word but if you’d see how impossible it is to know what station you are arriving at in a crowded carriage you’d forgive me! Also, I’m not so pasty looking - promise! its the flash…

Global warming - yes please!
First off, i’m ashamed not to have updated my blog for nearly two months. Terrible form. Seems it is too easy to not getting round to it, I’ve no valid excuse but then i’ve managed to keep in touch with most of you through joyous instant messaging.
We’ve had the pleasure of hosting many transient travelers to NYC over the last couple of months mainly from the UK, you know who you are and I’ll stay true to my word and post humiliating pictures up asap….mwahahahahaha
I’ve had trouble adjusting to the weather, it has been horribly cold, glacial winds chilling the very marrow in our bones. A couple -10 degree (C) runs have slowed our training. Spring time should usher in the more clement conditions in which I may continue training for a 20 mile relay race this summer.
After a freak gas cloud enveloping the city, evidence that NYC is directly contributing to pollution wafting over to the rosbifs in england and seemingly permanent ice formations across the city, I am secretly harboring hopes that we can have an early and warm spring for purely selfish short sighted reasons. :-p
Pictures to come soon once David gets off his lazy butt and sends his shots over to me. Keep checking in…
ciao!
